INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The belt structure contains an area where the opening for the pouching system can be cut out. The belt may also be worn without cutting out a hole. The decision should be made on an individual basis.
Choosing the right size:
To choose the right size, measure the circumference of the abdomen in a lying position at the height of the exposed stoma and then select the size.
Putting the product on:
Unfasten the Velcro.
Put the belt covering the abdomen and lumbosacral region of the spine.
Fasten the belt, making individual adjustments in the area of the fastener.
If you decide to cut out an opening:
[Fig. 1] Wrap the belt around your abdomen and lumbosacral region, so that the area intended for making the opening is located to the right or left of the stoma. This is a special area of the belt where the opening can be cut out according to the individual location of the stoma and according to patient need. The fabric around the opening will not fray.
[Fig. 2] Using a pencil, mark a dot in the centre of the stoma – this is the location of the opening
[Fig. 3] Take off the belt and lay it out flat.
[Fig. 4 and 5] Measure the diameter of the locking ring in the stoma wafer. In the case of a one-piece
the pouching system matches the opening to individual needs.
[Fig. 6] Using a pencil, draw the shape of the opening on the belt according to the measured
diameter of the locking ring.
[Fig. 7] Using a pencil, outline an area that is 1 cm smaller than the drawn shape of the opening.
[Fig. 8] Cut out the smaller shape with scissors.
[Fig. 9] Lie down and wrap the belt around the abdomen and lumbosacral area, so that the area with the opening matches the stoma location. Fasten the belt with the Velcro tab. Pull the ostomy bag through the opening.
[Fig.10] You can secure the ostomy pouching system by attaching a cover net by Velcro tabs to the area with the opening.
